Our Tamales
Tamales have been a staple dish in Mesoamerica for about 7,000-10,000 years. The indigenous people of the Americas considered corn as a central part of their cultural identity, and tamales continue to play a large part in their rituals and festivals to this day.
The Maya and Aztec civilizations (and the Olmec and Toltec people before them) prepared tamales as easily portable food for hunting trips, traveling large distances, and nourishing their population. Tamales were considered sacred, as they were seen as food of the deities.
Our tamales honor this rich heritage. They are made locally with fresh ingredients of the highest quality and traditional recipes and techniques. They are truly exceptional in flavor and consistency.
Our fillings range from chicken and pork to vegetarian and vegan options, flavored with green and red sauces with different spiciness levels. They can serve as a main dish or side in a variety of different meals and occasions.
We use only non-GMO corn masa and do not use lard.
